Jogo de Futebol

Last week I went to a futebol game at Pacaembu stadium in Sao Paulo.

The stadium is about a 25 minute walk from my apartment and is the home stadium of the Corinthians.
The game I went to was part of the Copo de Liberdades (a tournament for Latin American teams).
It was such a cool experience to see how passionate the fans were about their teams.  And it was interesting how different sporting events are here compared to the US.
No one was eating, there was never a line at the food vendors, and the vendors don't sell any alcohol.
Here is just a few pictures of inside the game.

Corinthians V Cruz Azul

Sometimes the fans would hold huge banners over the entire section, or an entire section would start dancing and singing, I'm not sure who orchestrated it every time but it was fun to watch!

And of course, because we're in Brazil, after the game, the street meat vendors come out.

  1. Awesome you got to attend a soccer game! Lisa and I went to one in Ecuador and it was such a cool experience. However, the Brazilian game looks much more exciting and passionate!
